Bribes. These soldiers took bribes to not reveal the truth that Jesus had in fact risen from the dead. They did not fall asleep or not notice. Jesus arose from the dead, thus fulfilling the prophecy. The truth cannot be hidden…
Matthew 28:11-15 — The Report of the Guard
For the first time in a long time I was watching Cosmos tonight, for entertainment purposes, and my son walked into the room to show me a book that the librarian had him check out today. The librarian’s instructions were to, “Show this to your dad, and have him read it to you.” The title of the book is The Road to Damascus, a kid’s book about Saul’s conversion to Paul. He then sat with me and began listening to what was being said about the age of the Earth. The person on TV then said that the Earth was 4.5 billion years old. My son asked, “Is that true Dad?” I said not according to the Bible it’s not, and that only God knows the exact age of the Earth.
I turned the TV off and began reading the book. We will finish tomorrow.
I believe that children need to hear that the Bible and God is truth, and that what the world will throw at them will need to be pressed through His filter in their hearts. It is our job to teach them how to use God’s filter and move through this world with the confidence of Jesus Christ. The world will work to shatter us, while God works to build us up. Let them date the Earth whatever they choose to date it. As for me and my family, we will stand with Jesus.
Joshua 24:15
I know it is difficult to battle this world. It will be hard until you draw your last breath. Be strong and continue to fight the good fight. Jesus is with us.
Amen.
Shalom.
