The Gospel of Jesus Christ

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” — Psalm 119:105

    Good morning.

    James 2:24
24 You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

What do you do for Jesus everyday? Don’t answer me. That’s no my question to ask. Many of us do fall into the trap of only asking Him, which is great and good. Today, let us ask what we can do for Him. #JesusSaves

  • Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King

    Note the specifics…

    Mark 11:1-11
1 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’”

4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” 6 They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,

    “Hosanna![a]”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”[b]
10 “Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!”
    “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

As I feel that I have been called into ministry, I find myself trying to figure out where He is calling me into ministry specifically. I imagine lots of things, from leaving my current job as coach and teacher, to maybe “applying” for ministry positions around the world. However, the more I read His words in the Bible, and the more He begins to take possession of my heart, the more I realize that He is in control.

I am exactly where He wants me to be right now. This is it. A place where I can learn and grow in life and in spirit. An “uncomfortable” and sometimes very painful place of growth. I am in a state of growth, and just like my mother soothed my legs through my growing pains, His word is here to comfort me and get me through.

I now know that His call to me will be the clearest call that I have ever heard. His plan for my life will be the most amazingly perfect and orchestrated plan to ever take shape. It will be flawless. And as in this passage Jesus was welcomed with royal treatment, all those who are called and chosen will be greeted in the same way in Heaven.

It is at that time that I hope and pray that God will gaze upon me and say, “Well done, my faithful son.” #JesusSaves

    Good morning.

    Acts 14:8-10
8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth and had never walked. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

Proof that Jesus left us with this power also. There is so much that we have missed because we have been blinded by our ability to see only what we can touch. Through FAITH, GRACE, and MERCY, our eyes can be finally opened. #JesusSaves

  • Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight

Jesus had performed miracles before. Why is this one so different…

    Mark 10:46-52
46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”

So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.

The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

    image

The man called Him Son of David. There is power in that. There is power in asking for mercy. It is His graciousness that will take care of it all.

Because of the man’s faith. His FAITH, he is healed. Jesus tells the man to go, for he has demonstrated the ultimate faith in the face of adversity.

Teaching and Healing at the same time. Every move calculated by the Father. It would soon be time. #JesusSaves

Good morning…what an absolute gem of a verse for this day!

    Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Unearned. Unmerited. Freely given. All that is left is to RECIEVE! #JESUSSAVES

  • The Request of James and John

Sometimes we just don’t know what we are asking for. However, don’t keep silent. ASK…

    Mark 10:35-45
35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.

37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”

38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”

    39 “We can,” they answered.

Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, 40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”

41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

    image

You wanna say whoops, don’t you? Man, I walked right into that one. But that is not what Jesus tells us to feel. He actually tells us to go for it!

He says, you want to be first? Then go get it. Go become what I was. A servant. Not a King, but a servant. He gave Himself to us. He instructs with an incentive. He offers those seats to whoever is greatest among us. But how to get to them is not what this world expects.

What a magnificent teacher Jesus is. Wow! I am overwhelmed with His love and ability to teach me. Thank you God. #JesusSaves

    Good morning.

    Romans 5:8
8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

His demonstration of His unmerited love for us. We did nothing to eatn. We can do nothing to lose it. Once ours…it’s ours! #JesusSaves

  • The Rich and the Kingdom of God cont’d

Who then can be saved? I love that question…

    Mark 10:23-31
23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”

24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is[e] to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, “Who then can be saved?”

27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

28 Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!”

29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

    image

Jesus tells us that all things are possible with God. He tells us that being rich can distract man. That this world is full of distractions, and that it is easier for the impossible to happen in man’s eyes if it is given to God.

So the Disciples ask the question of what is possible and who can be saved. As we know, they have given all to the cause. They are all in. So Jesus tells them that what they have given will be returned a hundredfold, which is to include persecution and wealth. The promise is real, but it must be given to Him.

To those that have much, much is required. Be it wisdom or wealth, much is required. He tells us that here on Earth, what appears to be first is last in Heaven, and what is last here on Earth is first in Heaven. The best advice we are given with these contradictory ideas as we look through our eyes is…lean not on our own understanding. But rather, trust in the Lord your God with all of yourself. #JesusSaves

    Good Morning

    James 1:5
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

ASK…Ask, Seek, Knock. That is wah it required. He promises to give it or us. Not only give it to us, but GENEROUSLY.  And just for good measure, He finds no fault in us, no sin, no mistakes. Only love. #JesusSaves
